Marius Glauer’s (*1983 Oslo) conceptual focus lies within the liminal space between photography and sculpture in contemporary art. With his sculptural-based photography, he covers a wide material-theoretical discourse of what can be considered photography today. At park, the artist introduces new works in which he manifests the surrealistic character of his photographs and leads the viewer into a world where genres blend. Still-lives become landscapes, landscapes become portraits. Like captured in René Magritte’s famous painting “Le Château des Pyrénées”, the notion of the impossible dream and the endless imagination of a better world are characterized here through levitating shells, red flowers, ancient insects, and phantasmagoric backdrops.
